Are you truly ready? Before starting any business, it is vital that you have a strong strategy put in place. You will have to understand your market, know your target customers, decide how your company will operate and hire the right staff. Your plan will provide you with the direction you need, and you’ll be able to utilise it to tick things off your list when you have achieved huge milestones.

Construct a solid marketing plan

You’ve spent months and months planning for the business, so when you’re finally ready to get it up and running, it’s essential that as many people as possible know about it. Spread the word far and wide by utilising social media channels, advertisements and of course, word of mouth.

Ensure you have got the correct licence

If a person passed their driving test before 1st January, 1997, they will be able to drive a minibus with up to sixteen passengers without needing an additional licence – but this is only if they are driving the minibus on a voluntary basis, rather than receiving any payment for it. To be able to start charging customers, drivers will be required to hold a Passenger-Carrying Vehicle entitlement D1, and take an additional driving test.

Secure your insurance

Minibus insurance is crucial to your business. You, your passengers, and of course other road users must be fully covered in the event of any accidents. Before you begin operating, ensure that you secure minibus insurance from a trusted provider. It’s a good idea to look for a provider that will give you flexibility, if and when your business needs ever change.

Choose vehicles from the right company

Before your minibus business can begin to operate, you’re going to need some vehicles. Ensure that you get them from a good dealer such as Allied Fleet, who design and build high-quality vehicles to meet specialised needs. It’s also important to make sure that they’re in good condition, and that they’re comfortable.
