With glamping, you get a proper bed, heating, and sometimes even your own small kitchen and bathroom. It’s the perfect way to enjoy the beautiful outdoors without giving up your favourite home comforts.

Now, why choose a shepherd’s hut for your Lake District glamping adventure? These charming little cabins have a special history; they were once used by shepherds as cosy, movable homes for watching their flocks.

Today, they’ve been lovingly updated into incredibly snug and stylish places to stay. They’re usually small, cleverly designed, and make you feel wonderfully private.

In the Lake District, a shepherd’s hut is truly ideal because:

  • Cosy & Warm: They are built to keep the warmth in, making them perfect for those cooler Lake District evenings.
  • Private & Peaceful: You often find them tucked away in quiet spots, giving you your own little slice of tranquility away from the crowds.
  • Unique Charm: They have a delightful, rustic look that fits right in with the stunning natural beauty of the Lake District.
  • All You Need: Many come with everything you could wish for, from a comfy bed and a small cooking area to, of course, that amazing hot tub!

Powering Your Glamping Adventure: Heating Your Hot Tub with Jackery Solar Generator 2000 v2

One of the big questions when you’re glamping with a hot tub is how to keep that lovely water warm, especially if you’re in a more remote spot.

Traditional wood-fired hot tubs are charming, but they can be a bit of a faff, constantly needing logs, keeping the fire going, and waiting for it to heat up. And what about powering other bits and bobs, like your phone, a kettle for that all-important cuppa, or even a portable fan on a warm day? That’s where a clever portable power solution comes in handy.

We’ve explored many options, and after putting it through its paces on our own Lake District adventures, we can confidently say that the Jackery Solar Generator 2000 v2 is a real game-changer for glamping.

Why is it so good? Let’s break it down:

The Jackery Solar Generator 2000 v2 has a strong battery (2042Wh) and can put out a huge amount of power – up to 2200W. This means it can easily handle most of your usual adventure appliances, which will help a lot in the Hot Tub Experience:

First, we should admit that the generator cannot sustain your heater; an electric hot tub typically uses between 1,500 to 6,000 watts. At the same time, it can theoretically power a hot tub heater that operates at or below this wattage (i.e., at the very lowest end of the 1,500W to 6,000W range). However, many standard hot tub heaters operate at 3,000W or even higher, which would exceed the Jackery’s continuous output and prevent it from powering the hot tub’s main heater.

However, it is absolutely brilliant for powering the accessories that make your hot tub experience perfect. Think about running a small circulation pump to keep the water moving, or powering a light for an evening soak. Crucially, it’s fantastic for keeping all your other glamping essentials running smoothly while you’re enjoying your dip.

Besides, the generator comes with two regular AC plug sockets, an 18W USB-A port, and two speedy USB-C ports (100W and 30W), so you can charge multiple devices at once.

It is also built to last, considering the special LiFePO4 battery that’s designed to last. You can charge and drain it about 4000 times before its capacity drops below 70%, meaning it should give you reliable power for up to 10 years! You can get it charged up really quickly from a normal wall socket. It can reach 80% charge in just 52 minutes, and a full charge in only 103 minutes! This is perfect for a last-minute dash.

It’s designed to be really quiet, staying below 30dB (like a whisper) when charging, so it won’t disturb your peaceful glamping trip. It also has 62 layers of protection built in, so you know it’s safe to use.
