For years, sports were unfairly labeled as a ‘guy thing.’ But things are different now. 

Women’s interest in sports is at an all-time high. A St. Bonaventure/Siena Research study has found that 60% of women are sports fans, of which 12% consider themselves avid fans. 

Women’s professional leagues like the WNBA and NWSL are to thank for this. It is due to them that women are finding more reasons to connect with sports. 

Another big reason for this is the increased visibility of women’s sports. In 2024, Deloitte forecasted women’s elite sport to generate more than $1 billion in revenue. That is a 300% rise in the industry’s evaluation in 2021. 

Young rising stars like college basketball standout Caitlin Clark and tennis player Coco Gauff are driving growth. 

Not just watching, many women are becoming deeply invested in stats, player performances, and team dynamics. That is the very foundation of successful sports betting. The passion for sports naturally translates into curiosity about betting, especially when it’s seen as an extension of the game-day experience.

Sports betting ads were aimed squarely at men. Until recently, Sportsbook Review stated that there was no focus on women or their role in the growing legal sports betting market in America. 

But now, brands are waking up to the fact that women love sports just as much. They have realized that women are an untapped market, and so they are shifting their marketing strategies.  

Companies are no longer just targeting men with ads featuring beer, big-screen TVs, and locker room banter. Instead, they are showcasing a more inclusive approach, highlighting how betting can be a fun, social activity for everyone.

They are crafting campaigns that appeal to everyone, where women are showcased as active participants rather than spectators.

More women’s games are being televised, streamed, and promoted on social media. The spotlight is finally shining on their incredible talent and dedication.
