How Company Vehicles Can Improve Marketing Efforts

Company fleets can fulfill a wide array of purposes depending on the industry and what they are designed to do. Service-based companies use fleets to transport service providers to customers and clients. Manufacturing companies and freight companies use vehicles to transport goods and materials from one place to another. Some companies provide company cars to consultants and executives.

This is a necessary expense for a lot of companies, but it makes sense to get as much use out of these vehicles as possible. While good maintenance and efficient use come into the picture, another way to save money is by using these vehicles that are already on the road to further a company’s marketing and branding efforts.

Importance of Marketing

Marketing is a company’s way to introduce its brand to the world. People need to know about a company to do business with it, it’s as simple as that. Marketing is a whole industry in its own right, and businesses spend huge amounts of money and time making sure that as many people as possible know they exist and are exposed to their marketing campaigns.

A company fleet is yet another opportunity to market your company and further your brand. These vehicles are on the road anyway.

Marketing is often about making your company more visible. It can only do this by showing up where people are likely to be. This is why social media marketing has become so popular, it works because people spend time on social media.

People also spend time on the roads, so they’re going to encounter your company fleet anyway. You might as well take advantage of it.

Car Decals and Stickers

The most obvious way to market and advertise your company using your fleet is through car decals and stickers. This makes your vehicles immediately stand out as they reflect your brand. People should be able to spot them a mile off.

Ideally, decals should draw the eye of other drivers and pedestrians. They should also very clearly be related to your brand. You might include a brand name as well as a slogan or a brief description of your services. It’s also a good idea to add contact information or a social media plug.

Any text should be large and easy to read. You don’t want to cover the car with an essay that people can’t make out. It needs to stand out and be able to be taken in within a few seconds, so drivers and passengers can pick up the message.

Private Plates

Another way to set your company vehicles apart from other cars and to make them a united fleet is by adding private number plates to the cars. You might consider doing this to all of your company cars, or perhaps only the vehicles that won’t be obviously branded, such as executives cars.

This is more professional, but still achieves the purpose of allowing the car to speak for your company.

Electric Vehicles

While this might not be an obvious way to market your company through the fleet, it can be very helpful when you are trying to create a reputation for eco-friendly practices.

Electric vehicles are far more popular than once before, largely due to the improved technology and infrastructure in place. This makes it much more viable to have electric vehicles throughout your fleet.

You can even save money as you will pay reduced tax for each car and, obviously, won’t have to pay fuel prices. The cost of electricity is often cheaper than fuel, and it’s much easier now than before to recharge the vehicles on the go.

This doesn’t just save money and lead to more efficient and eco-friendly vehicles, but it adds to your company’s reputation.

Responsible Drivers

Of course, if your vehicles are branded and obviously part of your company, it makes sense to think about the effect your drivers are having on other people. Make sure that the drivers are trained and understand that they don’t just need to be safe and considerate for the law, but also because they directly reflect your company.

Make sure that they are able to find a balance between getting to places quickly and efficiently and driving safely on the road.

In some cases, it’s beneficial to increase the amount of vehicles you have in the fleet as it puts the pressure off your drivers. If you find that they struggle to make it to jobs on time or to make deliveries, it’s best to improve the fleet.
