The longer someone stays in your store, the more likely it is they will buy something, and when they stay even longer, they will probably buy more. So it will pay dividends if you can ensure anyone who comes into your premises stays there for as long as possible. Not only will it bring you more sales, but because the experience will be a pleasant one, your reputation will improve as well. With that in mind, here are some of the ways you can keep your customers in your store for longer.

If you can help your customers as much as possible, they will be happier to stay as they will be able to get more out of visiting your store than simply buying whatever it was they wanted to buy. You can do this by offering in-store services and classes.

In-store services could be something like show or bra fitting, or it could be fixing something like an electronic device. Classes take this idea one step further and will teach your customers how to do something for themselves. This might seem counterproductive because they’ll no longer need your help, but if you can provide the materials they need, they’ll still come back to buy.

Play Good Music

Have you ever gone into a store and disliked the music because it wasn’t recognizable or it was played on strange instruments? If so, they probably made you want to leave sooner than you would have otherwise. However, you may also have been in a store that was playing familiar tunes, and that will have made you want to stay longer – you’ll want to hear the end of a favorite song and then you’ll want to know what the next one is. In the meantime, while you’re listening, you can browse and probably buy something.

When you play music in your store, it can really help with sales, but you do need to ensure you play the right music. That’s why finding a professional company to help you with music streaming for businesses is the best thing you can do.

Serve Food And Drink

You don’t have to suddenly become a café or restaurant in order to keep your customers in your store (although if you do want to add a café, that would potentially be a great idea). However, if you were to offer a drink and a cookie or slice or cake, for example, to anyone who came in, people would enjoy that, and it would help them stay longer. They’ll need to stay while they eat and drink, and they’ll want to stay because it’s polite.

Although this will cost a little money, if it means that people stay and therefore buy more, it’s a worthwhile investment. The key is to ensure the food and drink you offer are easy to eat and not messy; otherwise, your store and possibly your products will get dirty, and you’ll have to spend a lot of time cleaning up.
