Pick your destination

The first thing you are going to want to do is obviously pick the destination or destinations you want to travel to. Make sure you make plans

It can be daunting to arrive somewhere new, never mind doing it alone, so make sure you book some things to do in advance. This will mean you have some plan of what you will be doing and mean you do not have to try and plan it last minute when you get there.

If you are planning to just travel around and sleep in different places then it may be best to plan your hotel or hostels in advance so you can feel comfortable knowing you have somewhere to sleep each night. You may also want a gadget or app that supports different languages like English, Italian, or Spanish route planner app to help you easily navigate your destination.

Pack as light as you can

If you are travelling then you do not want to be lugging around tons of stuff, you want to make sure you have the essentials you need and that’s it. You can get some things in the palace you have travelled to if you need to. If you do need to take anything that wouldn’t be classed as essential then sometimes things like a small DAB digital radio can be great so you can listen to news or music so you do not have to waste your phone battery. This can be great should you be in the middle of nowhere, just make sure you have spare batteries.

 Consider group activities

Should you feel lonely on some days it can be a good thing to book some group tours or activities, this gives you the chance to interact with either people while still seeing the sites and doing things you wanted, it also can give you the chance to link up with other solo travelers and make new friends which is a great thing should it be your first time travelling alone to have someone to talk to about it.

If you are planning a solo trip and you are unsure how you can prepare for it then hopefully, these few tips will help you get started and make sure you are somewhat prepared for your trip so it can go nice and smoothly.
