They might know a bit, but it’s a specialist field that requires specialised knowledge to get right. Would you trust a doctor to give you an adequate dental check-up? 

Start with the fundamentals: test your site speed with free tools like Google’s PageSpeed Insights, verify mobile functionality by navigating the website on your phone, and confirm you’re using HTTPS. 

If anything doesn’t seem right, don’t delay getting an SEO specialist to take a look. Otherwise, you’ll be losing valuable leads for something that might take an expert just an hour or so to fix.  

The bottom line? Technical SEO represents the essential foundation that enables everything else to work. Your content strategy, link building efforts, and brand authority all depend on search engines being able to properly access and understand your site.
