First, you need to assign a task to someone. You need to choose someone who is capable, who has the tools and experience necessary, and who is reliable. You should also make sure that you tell them what their assignment is and outline any details that are important like the end goal. Miscommunication can lead to frustration with everyone.

Next, you need to give them space to do the work. No one likes being micromanaged, and everyone likes to feel capable and be given some room to figure things out on their own. Make yourself available if there are questions, and make sure they have the proper information and tools to complete their task, but then let them take it from there.

You also need to make sure that you check in a little while before the deadline to make sure progress is being made and see if they need any help from you. If so, step in and give help, but if not, then let them keep working.
